See instructions below on how to configure email forwarding to your new @optmsg.com account using popular email services.  Make sure you login to your email provider on the web to ensure you have access to all configuration settings. 

Remember, emails received by your old "free" account(s) will still be accessible to those providers to harvest your data and advertise to you. For best results, update your online accounts and your contacts to start using your new @optmsg.com email address for the best protection and privacy.

2. Download the mobile app and sync your contacts so trusted senders are ready to go.

Community Recommendations (CRs) help make sure you don’t miss something important. If an email gets sent to Trash but is from a sender trusted by many other OptMsg users, we’ll flag it as a CR. You’ll get a notification and the message will be highlighted in your Trash, so you can review it and decide whether to opt-in all future messages from that sender. Never miss an important message with a little privacy safe help from the OptMsg community. 

While OptMsg gives you complete control over who can email you—blocking spam, strangers, and unwanted senders—there’s still a small risk. If someone you trust unknowingly sends a message containing a malicious link, it could end up in your Inbox. That’s why we always remind the OptMsg community: never click on a link unless you’re absolutely sure it’s safe. Staying vigilant is the best defense—even in a protected inbox.

The most secure and private way to email is through OptMsg—especially when both you and the recipient use OptMsg accounts. In that case, your messages are fully encrypted, delivered directly between users without relying on third-party servers, and never exposed to outside scanning, tracking, or data harvesting. When you email someone outside of OptMsg, their provider may still read or monetize your messages.
